lie sand

Post by pirasha »

I wanted to know...when setting up a brackish tank with aragonite sand I have come across live sand. Now if I used this could I add a fish or two immediately or would it still have to cycle as the bacteria will die when the salinity is not high enough?

thats exactly what it should be called "lie sand" lmao. its basically a gimmick. if any type of use you could use it to start your cycle cause any "bacteria" in the bag will have died off. its way to pricey anyway, like $20 for a 5# bag around me... just better off getting regular dry aragonite and shrimp to cycle with that money you would spend on that stuff

Nothing live about "sand in a bag".
