My puffer

Post by stangd1909 »

Well my little guy is doing really good, and eats like a champ. When I look at him swimming around the tank, I feel bad because it is not big enough. I bit the bullet and bought a 250 gallon set-up. I think he will be a lot happier in there. I pick it up on Friday...so I'm excited.

A couple of pics..sorry there are crappy LOL.

Looking good. He is going to love that tank and you might be able to add a few smaller tank mates in the 250gl. WTG

I'm selling the old tank so I can buy a new skimmer. I'm looking at the Octopus xp 5000 cone skimmer.

I haven't decided if i will add any tank mates or not. I will get a few more urchin to help keep the tank clean though. What would be some good tank mates?

I really love this Puffer....he has so much personality LOL.

My long term goals is to get either a 750-1000 tank. As soon as I buy my new house, I will have one of the two.

That tank is beautiful!!! What kind of tank is it? I want a corner tank but the way my house is built I have no corners except in bedrooms...and I could never have such a beautiful tank "hidden" in a bedroom :)

Your puffer looks happy in that first pic.

You didnt say if your 250 is going to be glass or acrylic, but incase you didnt know, ive heard that urchin and acrylic dont work well together. The urchin will scratch the acrylic tanks.

good luck with the new tank and take lots of pictures

Urchins & puffers don't generally work well together either. Nom-nom-nom!

Man, I miss my stars and stripes. I hope he got a good home when I sold him to a petshop about 9 years ago. Yours looks just like the one I owned. Very awesome puffers they are indeed.
