Re: Setting Up F8 Aquarium
You're removing the cichlids, right?
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Right... I am removing them along with my albino pleco... they breed like crazy so just wanting for the small ones to get a bit bigger... my LFS lets my trade them in for store credit.
Then i was planning on draining the tank and filling up with brackish water... let that cycle while I slow add my plants to it... then I can get the bad boy... will need to custom order my F8.

Re: Setting Up F8 Aquarium
A 30 is not anything like big enough for 3 F-8ss. Sorry landon to dispute your conclusion, but it is just not not correct. With more puffer experience you will learn better. If you choose to learn the hard way rather than to take the experience of others with much more experience than you with these fish, that is you option. Some folks can only learn the hard way. That is their own personal option, but you may not say that a 30 is sufficient for 3 F-8s and have it accepted here. It is simply not true. You are wrong, period.

Just out of curiosity, how large are the 3 figure 8's and what are the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate readings?
Re: Setting Up F8 Aquarium
After much debate on keeping a brackish aquarium, I decided to stick to freshwater... Although F8 look like great, smart fish, I am not sure I will provide the right environment for them... Maybe later... I guess I will start with some dwarf puffers or SAP. Any suggestions on best personality?

Re: Setting Up F8 Aquarium
Stick with the DPs, neither of your tanks are large enough for 3 SAPs & they prefer to live in groups of 3 or more.

Cool. How are their personalities?
Re: Setting Up F8 Aquarium
I think they're very hard to find. Have you looked at Abeis? That's what our next puffer will be
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.
