Congo Puffer

Post by Sirpuffsalot »

I became intrigued by the "congo puffer" over these past few weeks. I was wondering if anybody had information on how much they cost/availability of these fish. Please let me know.

[welcome]
They seem to be seasonal as most of the harder to find species. I waited 4 years for an affordable bright red one. Locally, they wanted $200 for it. I had one shipped from TX for $50 from this guy: oluwatoyinojo@yahoo.com

Thanks a lot... I just started a new aquarium and I was looking for a medium size puffer because the mbu and the fahaka get bigger then my set up right now.... If you have any other suggestions for puffers from 6" to 10" let me know( that's just a tentative range)

I would speak to Toyin, I messaged him about your request & he said to send him an email. He gets a lot of the rarer ones. Also check: http://www.aquabid.com.

People recently have been accusing toyin of selling fish as different species. If you want a congo my fish store has 3. little ones 50 bucks, and the big one is around 70 or so.

I don't like the sound of that... where is the store located? I live in the San Diego area. Would you be able to have fish shipped?

I have had no problems with Toyin. He sent me a pic of exactly what I was buying.

Yeah when it comes to congos... but he is now selling fahakas as pustulatus puffers and making large amounts of money for fish that should be no where near that price.

No links just personal stories from some of the most well known fish breeders in the US. A lot people tend to not like toyin. And when i was trying to purchase my congo from him he was very rude about a lot of things. I personally don't like the guy but hey, if he has Congos and it's cheaper for someone to get em from him, by all means do so. I am from Michigan and my fish store will ship, they are very nice guys
