Newbie question

Post by teri12 »

Hello! I am hoping to get one figure eight puffer and keep him in a biocube 14, planted and scaped for his interest. Is this a viable set up if I faithfully clean daily and do a fifty % water change weekly?

Thanks for all help!

Unfortunately it's too small. Do you have a larger and longer tank? F8s are energetic fish and need the swimming length. Puffers are also messy and sensitive so they need a lot of water too.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Darn. I had heard that this was possible as long as I kept to one only and only a figure 8. Hmmmm . . .

He'll be a much happier little guy with more room to swim around and less concentration of waste.

Is there any puffer that is appropriate for that size? Wow, the local fish stores both said the 14 gallon would be plenty for one Figure 8. Bummer.

Well they do want to sell you a fish ;)

You could do three dwarf puffers in that tank as long as it's heavily planted/decorated.

You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Dp's are awesome!!! So fun to watch! I keep 5 in a 55 gallon with 3 oto's and 3 kuhli loaches. The Kuhli's are cool to watch too! The Oto's are little work horses and keep the tank so clean.
