Beautiful, complex and discussed here. The marine fish and reef section.

Powerheads

Post by bigfatfish »

I am liking the new Hydor Koralia Evo powerheads, but was wondering if I need 1 or 2 for my 55 gallon tank. Was thinking either the 4000 or the 520o models. Perhaps I should just get one & see how much movement it creates?

Put one at each end.

So maybe 2 smaller ones then. They come in 4 sizes 900/2800/4200/5200 LPH. How do I know how powerful they are - I don't want to shoot anything flying across the tank!
Anyone have any experience of this make? Can't find info. about which size is suitable for a particular sized tank - just the LPH.

I have found the companies you order from to be very helpful in giving advice on this. Where were you looking? Too bad you missed the recent 1/2 off sale on Korilias.
