What the...?!?!
I was just feeding my DP's frozen/thawed bloodworms. I squirted a small amount in my tank and one of my DP's swam through them, when he emerged one was stuck in his gill! He swam around for a few seconds then the worm sucked right into his gill and disappeared! Is this okay?

Re: What the...?!?!
Puffers are constantly eating stuff, shooting the food through their gills & sucking it back in to eat.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Thanks!!! Never saw that happen before! Not that there would be anything I could do if it were dangerous!

A lot of gobies or blennies constantly suck in sand plus any food then blow it out of their gills.
Geophagus - a bunch of fairly peaceful south american cichlids do the same - the latin name comes from geo = earth and phagus meaning to eat.
I've a tank full of Scatophagus argus - spotty is the argus bit, well I'll leave you to work out the last bit!

It is the "..phagus" bit, From the Greek phagos, ~one who eats.
