Opinion on a tank please
I'm looking to buy a tank to keep 2 f8's and about 3 bbg's or knight gobies. I'm looking into some used tanks on CL with no responses. So I just saw that a lfs is advertising Oceanic/aqueon tank for 10% over their cost and saying the distributer is selling them the tanks @40% off. I will call tomorrow to get the low down but it sounds to good to be true. Anyways. Is a 29 gallon Biocube too small? How do you feel about the biocube. It looks nice, but the idea of the built in filtration spooks me...I can't add extra filtration as the design won't allow it. Opinions please! Thanks!

29g is what I kept my 2 F8s in.

Oceanic make superb tanks.
But a biocube is the wrong format for two puffers IMHO. They need length to get more exercise and apparent spatial separation. They are very attractive display tanks, just not the best format for puffers.

Yes, I'd say a 30g is a more appropriate footprint.

I figured the footprint would be wrong. I really want a 40+gallon bowfront. Think we might go splurge on one tonight!

That's funny because my F8 is in a 46g now.
Here's a pick from several months ago when I first transferred them to the 46g from the 29g and added the celebes rainbowfish. Everything has a nice and natural algae growth now. The two large root ornaments are from Petsmart and I thing PP uses them too. My F8 loves the low root on the right.
