Bored or Lonely!
So, some of you will know that a couple of weeks ago I lost one of my GSPs & am left with just one in a 55UK gallon bowfront. Since losing the other one, this one, Flash, has just glass surfed constantly. Its actually quite distressing to see him - doing the same circuit, over & over, in the back corner. He rarely breaks for a rest & I can just about get his attention for food. When there were the 2 of them, they spent alot of time just cruising around together & resting side by side. Could it be that he is lonely? I know they are best kept as singletons & i hadn't planned on getting another, but his behaviour has changed so much in the last couple of weeks. I have tried rearranging the rocks to make it more interesting & there are a couple of ghost shrimp in there - but he does not pay them any attention.. What else can I do? Any suggestions?

Re: Bored or Lonely!
i think its just the change. i had two GSP's together in a 75, got rid of one because he started showing a little more aggression and would chase, no nipping/biting though. once the one was out of there my lone GSP seemed depressed lol. he perked up after a week or two. i would just make sure you water parameters are on point, maybe do a water change to try and perk him up a little. fresh water always seems to enlighten puffers a little

You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: Bored or Lonely!
Thanks guys. I do a water change weekly - he does seem to enjoy that. Really only the rocks in it at the moment - going through transition from BW to Marine - so had been trying to keep everything simple, to make the change over smoother when I add the LR. Maybe I will get some cheap & cheerful decs to give him something to poke around in!
I would like to keep him as a singleton, in the hope that I will get to see more of his character!
