How does this work? Are there hoses that hang over the tank edge into the tank, or does the tank need to already have drilled holes?

All you need is a pump.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Took my sister & her hubby to the airport yesterday, so now I can focus on my tanks again. Yay! :)

Since I haven't used a protein skimmer before, I wanted to start with a new one. Found a Reef Octopus BH-100 online for what seemed like a competitive price, and I ordered it last week; it arrived and I installed it on Saturday.

So far, so good. I see what you've all been saying about having a skimmer... it's amazing to watch the gross stuff accumulate in the cup!

I'll post some pictures in a bit... tank's a little cloudy right now because I just did a wc. My next step is to raise my puff's current tank's salinity to match the new tank, then I can move him over.

I moved my GSP to his FOWLR tank and started a new Marine Tank thread with photos here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=25686

I greatly appreciate everyone's participation and advice as I made my way from brackish to FOWLR!
