I posted a few days ago in the meet and greet section that I was looking to buy a F8 puffer as I wasn't sure if I wanted to venture into full marine again. I went to my LFS and noticed he had four 1" GSP's. Two of them looked pretty healthy and the other two didn't look that great. I asked the owner if he was expecting any F8's in anytime soon as he had them listed on the same tank the GSP's were in. He told me he was expecting them in next week. I took his business card and said I'd check in next week to see if they had come in yet. Well, the next day I was working in the area and decided I really wanted another GSP as they have been my favorite puffer to keep. I picked up one of the little guys yesterday and put him in my cycled 10gal tank. His colors have already improved since picking him up yesterday! Looks like I'll be heading out today to pick up some marine salt and start the search for a bigger tank to cycle. I could kick myself for selling my old setup!
I also grabbed some snails from the LFS and threw them in my old 2.5 gal tank to start breeding them again.
Aww, but we all know how hard they are to resist. He will be ok in there for a short while - lots of water changes to keep him happy whilst you get his big tank ready! He's cute!

Or I could have just left him in the 10g tank he was in at the LFS with 10 other fish.... I think he'll be fine for the little while it takes to setup the new tank. Thanks for the positive reply though!
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

I love GSPs as well. I ended up getting one for free with a bunch of breeding guppies from someone off of Craigslist. I was tempted to give it back and tell the person to find it a different home but I took it anyway. It turned out to be my fave fish, and I was heartbroken when my frog ate it (I didn't know back then that GSPs needed to be in brackish water). I found where they sold them and got another, and it died shortly after. I didn't get another one until college. Now I have 4 of them in a fully marine setup, and they are great fish. My roommates love them too and I sometimes see them watching my puffers eat and sleep. I don't regret bringing that first lil puffer home, and falling in love with the puffer fish. There has never been a fish that I had become so attached to, and for good reason. It has been proven that people with a fish tank are calmer and have lower blood pressure than those without one, and it is the fish that make this possible. They did a study where a well-decorated tank with fish and one without fish was assessed on health benefits. It was found that a tank, with or without fish, has a positive effect on the health of people, and that the fish helped to give even more benefit. On top of it, alzheimer's patients ate more when there was a fish tank around than those that didn't observe a fish tank, and people that observed a fish tank before dental procedures required less anesthetic and pain killer than those who didn't observe a fish tank. Fish have the same effect as dogs in lowering blood pressure, so a fish tank is a really great thing to have in a place where stress can be higher. So the next time someone says that it's stupid to have a fish tank, tell them all that I have said here, and they will be amazed and will think twice about saying that.

Hmm... Thats pretty interesting. I have to say my GSP has already helped me in this way. His tank sits right next to my desk in my home office and when I get stressed out from work I usually just take a few minutes and watch him cruise around in his tank.
