I think the live rock had ich hiding out on it. :(

Since this board has been up, we have found there are several questions that routinely get asked in order to help diagnose problems. If you can have that information to begin with in your post, we'll be able to help right away (if we can!) without having to wait for you to post the info we need.
1) Your water parameters - pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrates and salinity (if appropriate). This is by far the most important information you can provide! Do not answer this with "Fine" "Perfect" "ok", that tells us nothing. We need hard numbers.
2) Tank size and a list of ALL inhabitants. Include algae eaters, plecos, everything. We need to know what you have and how big the tank is.
3) Feeding, water change schedule and a list of all products you are using or have added to the tank (examples: Cycle, Amquel, salt, etc)
4) What changes you've made in the tank in the last week or so. Sometimes its the little things that make all the difference.
5) How long the aquarium has been set up, and how did you cycle it? If you don't know what cycling is read this: Fishless Cycling Article and familiarize yourself with all the information. Yes. All of it.
We want to help, and providing this information will go a LONG way to getting a diagnosis and hopeful cure that much faster.
While you wait for assistance:
One of the easiest and best ways to help your fish feel better is clean water! If you are already on a regular water change schedule (50% weekly is recommended) a good step to making your fish more comfortable while waiting for diagnosis/suggestions is to do a large water change immediately. Feel free to repeat daily or as often as you can, clean water is always a good thing! Use of Amquel or Prime as a dechlor may help with any ammonia or nitrite issues, and is highly recommended.
Note - if you do not normally do large water changes, doing a sudden, large water change could shock your fish by suddenly changing their established water chemistry. Clean water is still your first goal, so in this case, do several smaller (10%) water changes over the next day or two before starting any large ones.

Re: I think the live rock had ich hiding out on it. :(
Thank you very much for the info! I will call around and see if any of the herb/vitamin/health food stores have it, if not I'll order it.
I have a question about the hyposalinity then, I dropped the tank yesterday from 1.022 to 1.014, while doing my water change, one of my pipes burst so I had to shut the main water off. I have only about 10% to 25% of the water missing though.
Do I still want to do the hyposalinity and drop it to 1.009, or should I slowly raise it back? Right now of course I can't do anything until they fix the pipe.

You did this in your main tank with the LR/LS still in there? As long as you've started this process, maybe you should continue to do so. Hypo is 1.009.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: I think the live rock had ich hiding out on it. :(
I have about 4 or 5 small pieces of live rock, and there is nothing special about it, no corals, or anything on them. Sand was just sand, I didn't specifically buy live sand. I know I shot my bacteria, but I panicked when Pig Pig was breathing so heavily and had spots on him. They are very fond of their "spots" within the rocks so I didn't want to set up something to put the rock in and take it away from them. In retrospect, I could have done so and given them something else in the mean time, but I guess I didn't think it through

Re: I think the live rock had ich hiding out on it. :(
Earlier today I did the 30 min freshwater dip, did a water change, brought down the salinity, and returned them to the DT. They both are buzzing around happily between, under, and around everything, however Pig Pig still has the white dots on his pectoral fin, and he is still breathing heavily, not worse or better. He still occasionally has a little bit of graying on the sides and around the mouth, but not constant, and not very dark either. Were the spots supposed to fall off in the freshwater dip or will they drop off in time?
I also bought ammonia test,
I tested ammonia: 0, nitrite: 0, Ph 7.8, and Alk: 2.0.
I am glad to see that the ammonia didn't move at all, I will be keeping a close eye on it. I did add a buffer to the freshwater, but the Ph still dropped a bit, but the Alk is still tests at the same color. I added the Herbal Ich Attack, and I called around just to check to see if I could buy it locally, but will have to order the VC from the link you gave me.
Thank you again PP, I hope they respond well to the treatment(s). I would really love to see Pig Pig breathing normally soon, he's so tiny, I'm worried about him.

Pig Pig is still breathing heavily, he has a bit of gray shading on his sides still, and I still see the little white spots on his pectoral fin, he also occasionally does something that looks like coughing, and shaking his head slightly.
I tested the water and everything has remained the same, no spiking.
What would cause this “coughing" and will those spots go away or could they be scars?

Pig Pig is only an inch long and I only have a cell phone camera, it won't pick up that very small detail while in motion.
Should I be concerned about his"coughing"?

If he does have ich/crypt, it will infect his gills the worst.

Pig Pig had his ups and downs this week, but today he is looking better for sure! He isn't breathing as heavy, and he has no gray on his sides today. I'm thinking that the two spots on his pectoral fins may be scars because all the other spots on him and Balki have disappeared. The water parameters are staying consistent, still no spiking. The last few days have been great, they are both swimming about actively, in between and under things, looking around with their adorable blue-green eyes. Funny how crazy we would look if our eyes didn't move in unison with each other, but how cute and inquisitive they look.
So far so good
