Hi,
I have figure 8 puffer fish and a green spotted puffer, I got them at the same time, at the same store and both were in a brackish fish tank. Both of the puffer fish are doing great, they eat and always begging for food. I am a little worry about my F8 because when I bought him his stomach is sunken in. He still eat like a pig. (Had them for two weeks now) When I feed him his stomach will bulge out like the GSP, they both (I feel) digest food at the same rate. The difference is that when both of them digested, the stomach of the F8 becomes flat and the GSP becomes round. If I do not feed them for two days, F8's stomach will become sunken in, while the GSP stomach is just less round but not enough to be called flat. Just in case I went out and bought Jungle medicated pellet (it's all they have) for internal parasites (this is the second day I am using it). The first day the GSP is willing to eat 3, swallow most of it. Today he will chew the pellet to small pieces but I am not sure if he eat any, but the F8 refuse to eat the pellets. I know that once I started a treatment I cannot stop, because the parasite can become immune to it, but I am not even sure if the puffers have any internal parasite and the wrong one is taken the medication. Also, when I clean my tank using the syphon, I do not see any stringy poops, only round black ones. So I am wondering:
1) does my F8 have internal parasite? The F8 have not been fed for 2 days (it will eat mysis, brine, bloodworm, except for the pellet meds)
2) Could the cause have been it is underfed at the LFS? when I saw F8, it was in a 10 gallon tank with 5 other GSP.
3) If they do, what kind of med should I use to cure it? it will be extremely helpful if I can have the name and what the main ingredients I am looking for

Since this board has been up, we have found there are several questions that routinely get asked in order to help diagnose problems. If you can have that information to begin with in your post, we'll be able to help right away (if we can!) without having to wait for you to post the info we need.
1) Your water parameters - pH, Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrates and salinity (if appropriate). This is by far the most important information you can provide! Do not answer this with "Fine" "Perfect" "ok", that tells us nothing. We need hard numbers.
2) Tank size and a list of ALL inhabitants. Include algae eaters, plecos, everything. We need to know what you have and how big the tank is.
3) Feeding, water change schedule and a list of all products you are using or have added to the tank (examples: Cycle, Amquel, salt, etc)
4) What changes you've made in the tank in the last week or so. Sometimes its the little things that make all the difference.
5) How long the aquarium has been set up, and how did you cycle it? If you don't know what cycling is read this: Fishless Cycling Article and familiarize yourself with all the information. Yes. All of it.
We want to help, and providing this information will go a LONG way to getting a diagnosis and hopeful cure that much faster.
While you wait for assistance:
One of the easiest and best ways to help your fish feel better is clean water! If you are already on a regular water change schedule (50% weekly is recommended) a good step to making your fish more comfortable while waiting for diagnosis/suggestions is to do a large water change immediately. Feel free to repeat daily or as often as you can, clean water is always a good thing! Use of Amquel or Prime as a dechlor may help with any ammonia or nitrite issues, and is highly recommended.
Note - if you do not normally do large water changes, doing a sudden, large water change could shock your fish by suddenly changing their established water chemistry. Clean water is still your first goal, so in this case, do several smaller (10%) water changes over the next day or two before starting any large ones.

I only have access to meds with Praziquantel, since they are still eating I will give it to them with their daily food. I have read somewhere that I should be worry about the parasites in the water, what do I get to cure that? That for your help once again

Sometimes adding it to the water can help encourage the fish to eat the medicated food. That way the yucky taste of the food isn't there any more because it's the same as the water 
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

That's a very good point Flutter. I never thought of it like that haha. That F8 def. has some IPs it looks like to me. Poor little fella, but he should be fine as long as you go through the treatment properly.

Thank you for all your replies. I just went out and bought PraziPro today
. I just added some to the water. Starting tomorrow, I will mix it with there food and hopefully they will eat it. Just two last question. How long should I treated it for? On the bottle it says "a single treatment should be sufficient" and it means by adding it to the water not feed orally. And if I want to do another treatment I must wait three days, so once every three day. How do I know that the parasites are gone and he is all better? Because I think he is abit skinny too! lol
