Finally got my Fahaka!!

Post by FADE2BLACK_1973 »

Well what a Christmas for me. I spoiled the kids and bought for the whole family and I guess it payed off..lol. I give aways reguardless if I recieve anything in return because I dont expect anything anyways. Well I went to the lfs that ordered the Fahaka for me and they had him there. I drove about 20+miles to get there and wow he was alittle bigger then I thought. I would say hes about 6" and looks really good. Has afew white spots on him but might be nothing.

a 6"er is definitely worth $50. Congrats! Is he home now? How did you keep his tank cycled all that waiting time?

Happy Holidays to you too J-P :D

PP, I had to put him in my 55 gal. that I had some african cichlids in. Yeah I know it's abit small for him since I had no time getting a larger tank up and cycled yet. Thought he was going to much smaller. But Fahakas are pretty hard to come by around here. The guy that I ordered it from told me that he was extremely lucky getting it. So it's JUST temperary until I get the other going and ready.

With a poop factory, 7 inch spotted sailfin pleco. No problem keeping it cycled.

Yep, nothing in the tank with the fahaka. Well other then a bunch of small mystery snails because thats all I could find at any of the lfs's. Now just afew left but not much..lol. My fahaka is eating aready but nothing extremely since he is still new and everything is still new to him. The snails, frozen krill, and frozen blood worms is what I am feeding him at the moment until I be able to go back in city. All the lfs's around is out of most foods for him. Wont be able to find crayfish and live red wigglers. Just will have to keep looking for more small snails since he is still abit small in my eyes.

Thanks HGI, finally got one and can't believe the luck. Little bigger then I expected though but with him being very healthy and active could not pass it down. Btw, the guy was trying to raise the salinity in the tank at the lfs that my fahaka was in plus he was in a tank with a bunch of GSP's and F8's. Things might had turned out bad for my fahaka if I did not get him in time.
