Today is the first time my GSP has been given a ghost shrimp.
when he figured out he was in the tank
my fish started to change colors and i dont mean just his belly
all his spots turned brown and then the ones on his sides stared to fade into his green.( he looked like he was camoflauging himself)
and he just stalked the lil shrimp around for about fifteen minutes then he just left the shrip alone
im just wondering
is this normal behavor?ive never heard of them "camoflauging"

it seems normal. Do do change colors depending on their mood.

Re: Just wondering
PP would say killing it with kindness, but just keep an eye on the feeding. he's a growing boy and needs his food. But too much can cause problems. See the feeding article in the library

Re: Just wondering
It's always a good idea to feed your food (gut-load) before feeding to your puffer. Ghost shrimp are 99% water. The stalking puffer will camo itself, to make it easier to sneak up on it's food.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: Just wondering
He doesnt usually eat his frozen food every day
i find my self cleaning out more then he eats and i dont put much in there
but he does eat anywere from 3-10 snails a day
I had tried giving him lil fishies before when i had first got him
and he showed no interest.
Today was the first time hes had live food with me and im pretty sure it made his day and it also made mine watching him
