Those with Fahakas
Do your puffers just lay on the bottom most the day and tend to only get up when yall come around? Im curious if its just Bloat or if all fahaka's do it. Honestly makes his tank kinda boring to watch from the couch, he is in my dining room, cause he lays in one corner under a piece of DW all day long. Once in a while will come out and circle a peice of rock and then go back to his spot. I have been chalking it up to his bad eye and him not being able to see all that well. But I wonder if others are the same way.

Yes, Filbert's a lazy fellow.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: Those with Fahakas
my puffer is very active,
he does rest at the bottom as well
comes flying out when sees anyone pass the tank,
could be maybe because of his bad eye
every fahaka is different i spose as well.
after a feed, they do rest and digest their food.
the big gluttons!

Awesome pic !!!
Snag is the same way.....sticks around his cave. Buries himself in the sand when he's done eating.
He usually comes out and swims when I'm around....

Re: Those with Fahakas
Kaya is very active especially when she doesnt notice that we are watching her. She likes to cruise slowly trough her tank exploring evrything. But she can also be lazy and just lay down on the sand or bury herself. But always when she sees that somebody is watching her she comes to the front glass.

No change at all, I think its permanent. I can dangle a piece of food right beside him and he wont see it till I move it in front of him

Re: Those with Fahakas
Maybe not a real comparisment but I have a Clownbotia who is blind on 1 eye, he aint shy at all, I more have the feeling hes less shy because of that eye because he doesnt see danger with it.
Can't your fahaka just be a lazy one? because as long u dont change the tank every week he should know where what is because he still has sight in 1 eye.

Mufasa doesn't stop moving. He's always going from one end of his 150 to the other. The only time he is "resting" is at night. He ALWAYS sleeps in the same corner.
