Re: i think my fish is cold
Ouch! That is cold! The only thing I can think of right now is that lights can give a little heat. Actually, that's how I keep one of my tanks heated. But that tank has a lot of light, and stands in my warmest room.
I have a little problem with a few of my tanks that are in my bedroom. They have heaters, but they can't keep the heat up when my bedroom is 45 - 50 degrees at night and in the morning (it's very cold outside, and I still have to keep a window open because of the humidity the 6 tanks in my bedroom make). But it hasn't been all bad, as I realized today that the cold water had made a pair of my catfishes breed.
There were little wigglers in the cave of the male today! It took me by surprise when I found out.

Buy a heater, they aren't expensive. That way you can slowly warm your fish up and you'll be prepared for the future. What kind of fish is it?
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

I won't freak out, I promise. Will your parents give you a loan? You can explain to them why you need it and they might help you out. They might be willing to help you find a used tank and/or heater. It's a tropical fish so it really does need some heat.

My parents used to pay me for doing extra chores around the house.

Re: i think my fish is cold
Heaters are a must, even in warm climates. They keep the tank's temperature stable. Fish notice changes that we don't. The only reason a fishkeeper could skip the heater is if they have a temperature-controlled fishroom.
"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her. Will she gain anything by it? Will it restore her to a control over her own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to freedom for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."
