I see this from time to time and it really makes me angry.

I called the guy an hour after his listing posted and left him a message that I would come and get the fish but he never called me back so I assume somebody came to get them. I was going to keep the angle and re-home the others on CL or the LFS. I was going to keep them for a while because I have plenty of room in my 10g QT and 29g cull tank to make sure everyone was nice and healthy.
My plan after I had the fish in bag and at the door was to tear into the guy about wanting to flush the fish. I can be quite the A-hole when I need to be and this was going to be one of those times.
I've seen people like this on CL before and I usually send them an email telling them to take the fish back to the store. But I called this guy because he was about 10 minutes from me.
Anyways, I'm done complaining...For now.

They're cheap? Chances are that the people who treat them poorly treat their other animals poorly as well.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.
