Our home was appraised at $325,000
We have it currently listed at $290,000 (with 220,00 debt)

Are you in a situation that you need to sell, I would sell in a heart beat. I dont know about the housing market up there but down here it is in the tank big time.

J-P: make the false wall a false chimney. On whatever face you chose, use louvered panels at the lowest level, and repeat at the top, with the low louvers angled at the floor outside the false wall, and aimed at the ceiling outside the false wall at the top. This helps avoid overheating as well as excess internal humidity.

The excess humidity is a help to the HVAC humidifier in the winter, but an extra load on the unit's dehumidifying in summer. Ditto for the excess heat - reducing the heat demand in winter, but adding to the cooling load in summer.The net effect should be comparable to a free-standing tank setup, just more socially acceptable (read as: spouse and guests acceptable) in living areas.

The false wall also helps protect the tank from sticky-fingered rug rats and inebriated guests. If I ever should do another nursing home or assisted-living facility tank, it will be enclosed, with key-only access.

I'll have too look up some schematics of that. BUT, knowing me, I still can't figure out how a toilet functions properly. If I could figure that out, I'd have the ultimate water change plans

xrayjeeper83: Yes, we are in a position where living here without full time employment is no longer feasible. Hopefully, I'll be going to the city where I'm closer to family and gainful employment.
As a side note, the owner of the grocery store I work at is now involved in a court battle. It is an ugly situation where they are using me as an example. I am far over qualified for my position but there is a Union. The union is fighting for "seniority" rights. The owner is fighting for "qualifications". Talk about a high stress level... In essence he wants to give me full time management, but the union says "no" because I don't have seniority thus, we are going to loose our home.

I have two un-realized tanks that I have wanted for decades. One is a fairly large Monaco-style tank (requiring the entire tank room to support) for another T. mbu. The other is big tank with a spiny boxfish,with multiple refugia for support.

Unfortunately, either of those would require many thousands of bucks to set and maintain indefinitely. Neither is likely to ever happen.

i guess thats why i did the hypothetical,just kind of see what peeps would do if...had a little extra $$$.i total agree with RTR about getting a system that u can keep up on maintenance.i think it would be nice to get some good equipment that is going to last,that might be a little pricey .imo i would rather have a few more setups,with trust worthy equipment even for 1 fish per setup .if the fish could live a long life in a well kept envirnment im all for that,even just a 4$fish.fish are stuck in the dwelling u give them,they cant leave.im all for good equipment thats gonna last with proper maintenance.on the flip side i know this isnt a cat site--thank u i luv my cats we have 5 but could u actually spend 5 grand on a cat???little ingrates,they get mad or hurt and they go somewhere hide--whatever--your fish croaks--i think that sucks.anyways starting to babble.anyways i would get puff some live rock to make some more trolling areas and a protein skimmer
