Burrfish? ID

Post by Troender »

SW puffers are not my strength, but the fish in this forum thread must be a burrfish of some kind? Can someone (i.e. Corvus :lol: ) ID this species?

my guess:
Chilomycterus affinis pacific burr fish

other possibilities: depending on where the fish was caught;
Cyclichthys hardenbergi (Australia)
Chilomycterus spinosus spinosus (SW Atlantic)

Chilomycterus spinosus in my opinion
Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Give a fish a man, and he'll eat for weeks.

it does look that way... the dark spots are in the right areas and the colouration is exact.
