I can at least tell that they are well fed, and have the basic care they need. As they are breeders, the parents have to be in good shape. All the puppies looked very healty. The Chihuahuas are definitely very well cared for. They looked like a very nice group, with good temperament and very cute (all though not my kind of dog). The only thing I worry about is that I don't know how much life they have outside the dog yard. I know they give them lots of exercise on a treadmill, but they still need to see something different than their own yard. But I really don't know
if they take them outside or not. I didn't ask about that.
The differences between the breeds of dogs they have is funny. They breed Chihuahuas, Borzoi and St. Bernhard dogs (I have no idea if this is the right names in English - these are the Norwegian names). From the very, very small dogs, to the very big ones!
When it comes to getting a dog from a shelter, I'm a bit divided in opinion. That's because the dog I had before Kaisa was from a shelter. Her name was Kässi, and she had a long and sad story behind her. She had had at least 6 different owners before me, and I am absolutely certain that she had been beaten. I loved her very much, and she was a very nice dog. But she had her problems, and they weren't always easy to deal with. I never regretted taking her in, but decided not to take a dog from a shelter again. I wanted to have a dog from it was a puppy, so I could teach it myself - which is what I have done with Kaisa. You know more what you get, when you train the dog yourself. And of course: I stay with one breed: Kleiner Münsterländer. I know that breed very well, having grown up with the breed, and having had it myself too (Kässi was also a Münsterländer - I was very surprised to find one in a shelter, as it's not a common breed). I know the breed so well (I usually say that I can talk Münsterländer
), so I know I get a dog that suits me well. This is
not a breed that suits any dog owner, as it is very energetic, stubborn and highly intelligent.
