Maroon Clown Hosting My Newest (and last) Addition!!

Post by SkullV »

Well I went to my buddy's house to pick up the rest of the liverock I was buying from him and I saw a spare GLO 2x54w T5HO fixture that he had sitting there. Knowing that he had a bunch of VERY healthy Red Bubble Tip Anemones I made him an offer on the light fixture (I already have one 2x54wT5HO) and the anemone and he accepted. Drip acclimated the anemone, put him in the tank and made sure to watch closely while he attached to a rock and also to make sure that Ulysses (my puffer) didn't try to eat him. After that I went to dinner and when I came home this is what I saw:

AMAZING!!

Yeah, I was VERY happy with how quickly the clown took to it but I kind of figured it would happen since it was a wild caught maroon clown and this is their natural hosting anemone. The only downside is that the maroon got MEAN as soon as it started hosting that anemone, oh well.

I always love watching clowns in anemones. They brush themselves into the anemone and seems to really enjoy it, like it was a very soft and wonderful bed. :D

So far the only fish that the Maroon is showing any aggression towards is the trigger. Hopefully it stays that way since I know Van Gogh can hold his own!
