Tank Upgrade Time!

Post by Flutter »

Kyle popped into Petsmart today and they have 20gal tanks with hoods on sale for $15 and 10gal tanks with hood on for $8. He asked if he should pick something up  So he's clearing out the store :ROFL2:

Worst case scenario we can sell them for a steal and still make money. We'll change one tank into a photography tank, upgrade the QT tank, and upgrade our marble cray. Might upgrade the shrimp/snail breeder too. One tank will have to be on reserve for a salivator male. If I ever see one I'm scooping it up. We won't set up another tank though as 4 is enough. I need to keep repeating that to myself...

Nice deals. Ive seen so many tanks on CL when petsmart/petsco does the 1dollar a gallon sale that people obviously got from the sale and then tryin to turn them around to make a profit lol

Here you're lucky too get a used tank in fish room condition for $1/gallon. The 20gal tanks cost about $40 and the canopies cost about $90 new. Many canopies don't come with bulbs either and that's another $40.

We just sold our 50gal tank complete with scratches and a horrible permanent background for $50. It was sold only a couple hours after posting it.

Unfortunately they're regular ones :( The long ones were $40 without a lid and light.

We'll put the cray in a 20gal and possibly upgrade the snail/shrimp tank to a 20gal. Neither of those really need the extra length.

The 20 longs were on-sale with a PetPerks card for $32.

It was a fun night, you should have seen the look on the woman's face when I asked her for help with purchasing 6 tanks.

THE PERFECT WAFFLE
2 cups flour, measured after sifting
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
3 rounded teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs, separated
1 1/2 cups milk
1 stick butter, melted
2 tablespoons Crisco
Sift flour and measure. Sift again with: flour, salt, baking powder.
Beat the egg yolks with the sugar, then milk, and pour slowly into dry ingredients, stirring to prevent lumps.

Stir in melted shortening, beating only until batter is mixed (some lumps will remain), then fold in the two beaten whites.

Bake each waffle on a piping hot iron approximately 4 minutes.

NOTE: You may substitute buttermilk for the milk. Reduce the baking powder to 2 teaspoons and add 1/3 teaspoon baking soda instead.

Ahh... So he's supposed to make me breakfast to make up for his potential disobedience/screw up?
