So I've has my GSP since august, right now hes in a 30gal FW, but we're starting to introduce him to BW. To put a long story short, my 80gal tank which used to house a dragon goby and some other brackish fish had an ich battle that we lost. So all the fish in the 80 are gone. We tore it down, washed everything and relandscaped.
My question is could a GSP be housed with any other fish in an 80gal? I read on greenspottedpuffer.net that gsps and ceylons are ok together. is this true, since i'm fairly new to puffers i just need some extra advice.

Nope...Ceylon would kill the GSP.
If you want to get another Dragon Goby I suggest going with a Figure 8 puffer

Re: GSPs and Ceylons
thanks for the info jtbadco.
we're having so many different thoughts on what to do with the tank. and Verde (my gsp) doesnt seem to be liking his 30gal very much. all the params are good, we had an ammonia spike i have no idea from where, we clean the tank once a week, but we brought it back down. he may just be stressed from the ammonia, but its been at 0 for 3 days now. it may just end up that my gsp goes into the 80gal by himself...and when we buy a house, we buy a bigger tank, and we buy another tank...lol my MTS continues
not sure if you saw my post over on wpgfishforum. but its "ilovemydragon" here lol. its nice to see other manitobans around on the other sites. i was talking to geronimo on there and he said the same thing ceylon+gsp = bad idea

Re: GSPs and Ceylons
Where did you hear this? I kept 2 GSPs & a Ceylon together for many years. I have read that Ceylons are the "gentle giants" of the BW world. I would not keep F8s & GSPs together.jtbadco wrote:Nope...Ceylon would kill the GSP.

You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Re: GSPs and Ceylons
wow, lol i have no idea which way to go now. but i guess everyones experiences are different. i was actually speaking with someone on another forum and they had a ceylon and a gsp. and it wasnt a pretty sight, they didnt mix well. in his words "DO NOT DO IT. The Ceylon will annihilate the GSP, trust me, I've tried"
I guess theres a reason why i go to 4 different forums, to listen to what EVERYONE has to say. thanks for the tips guys...i might just go in a completely different direction since i'm getting mixed opinions from everyone
