Well, as you may know I moved my DPs from a 15g high that sat on my kitchen counter into a regular 10g tank elswhere. Everything but the terracotta flower pots went with them and I added a new rock and shell. The tank has a "natural" feel. I kinda wish I had gone with a darker substrate because the fish are showing less color now, but this could also be them adjusting to the move.
I hope you guys don't mind a bunch of pictures.

The otos love this rock even though it has no algae growth on it.
My little female DP has a something wrong with her upper lip and I think the male did that to her while they were in the other tank. She had the same injury a short time ago and it seemed to heal just fine then. He had been beating her up pretty bad and I hope the change/move will prevent any more "spousal abuse".

After a few days adjusting to a new tank it's back to business as usual. So far I have seen no "spousal abuse" by the male and hopefully the new setup was the answer. My computer is in the same room so they can see me more and I think they like the activity.

Her lip is looking better and I've been treating with Melafix all week just in case. It's funny that I call the male's aggression "spousal abuse" and she has a "fat lip".
I bought 3 more BBGs and I temporarily hung them on the front of the DP tank to see what they would do. They were very curious.

The BBGs won't be housed with them. I just hung them there to get a good look at them. Though, if BBGs were FW I think they might be able to be housed with DPs.

Thanks. It all got moved over to a 29g with black sand. I added another DP and 5 kuhli loaches. I had to remove the male DP and he resides in the 10g all by himself...He was just getting too violent. He might be looking to for a new home to somebody that would keep him as singleton...Any takers in the Dayton, OH area?

When they were in the 10g it was 1 female / 1 male and I had to divide that tank. Last month I saw a DP at the store and though it is a juvenile it looked like a female so I bought it and put her in a 10g QT for a few weeks. Then I converted the 29g for them and placed all 3 in at the same time. My hopes was a 29g would settle him down. He was good for a week or two and then one day he started darting around the tank charging and ramming the females. The little juvenile would hide in some plants high in a back corner and he would go get her. The other female hid less and he would chase and ram her everywhere. He would just cycle the hole tank checking his territory and going after the females. It was actually neat looking to see him use all that space, he was so agile and precise in his movements. I'm thinking of trying it one more time before I make a final decision on what to do with him. If I get rid of him it will have to be to someone that knows how to care for him as a singleton and selling to the LFS is pretty much out of the question. I'm considereing dividing the 29g need be and see how that works too.
I was going to add some otos back to the tank along with the 5 kuhli loaches already in there but I wonder if instead I added a few more DPs if he would settle down. I don't know if another male would keep him in check or if another female or two would make him more comfortable. I don't think so but IDK.
Btw, I never saw any signs of him attacking any otos or kuhlis loaches.

This tank was redone in the black sand for these guys on Dec 04. This was my F8-BBG tank a while back.
A kuhli loach and a few hiding places.
More kuhli hiding places including a piece of DW. Also a ghost shrimp hanging out.
Lots of fake plants from the substrate to water surface and plants hanging all along the back glass.
