I'd be happy with him for as long as it lives.. maybe 6 months - 1 year. If longer you are lucky.

his got a bitter quilety of life here with me then he did with his prevuse owner or even at all gods creatchers for the matter~reefchik~ wrote:hermionejane, imagine if someone put you into a small closet that you had to sit down in, to live the rest of your life. In addition, they wrapped your feet and hands in bandages so that they could never grow. In a human sense, this is what we do when we put fish into a tank that is too small. The biology is different but the comparison is valid.
Sweetie, I know you're trying to do what's right, and you have a soft heart and love your cichlid. If you leave it in that tank for very much longer then it's cruelty. Think about that.
all gods creatchers there tanks are extreamly small and gross looking they dont care for there animales properly there puppys are matted they had one with a broken leg and didnt do any thing for it they were payed to watch some ones fairet and put it in a lizerd cage and the fiaret nawed on the cord to the light and got ziped and killed

Re: I need more infermation on green spotted puffers
i think i found out what he is albino pleco will usually is usually refered to as a rubber lip pleco is the common name for it and it usually will only get 6 to 7 inchs in size as well the bristlenose pleco like u said will have the mustache looking thing on the nose of the fish and it wont become aparent until it gets to be around 2 to 4 inchs sometimes. plecotomus are the ones that get to 2 feet and u can tell that breed by the fact that they are usually brown. albino albinos generally are made to be a smaller breed so though u are looking to make urs a 2 footer it seems likely hood is urs might max out at about 7 to 8 inchs 10 max i believe and also some salefin plecos are often mistaken for a plecotomus and they only get to be roughly 8 to 10 inchs sometimes to mine is about 7 inchs right now
ps you guys are not going to like this at all but our walmart has green spoted puffers

If you bought him at walmart. To start with they know NOTHING, walmart is completely clueless about fish. They also only sell common pleco's which are the ones PP is talking about. THey will grow to 18inchs. He will grow to be HUGE

Most of what you have said here is not true, it simply is not. There are a thousand different Loricariidae, look here http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/fa ... amily_id=4
You are very confused about this species because of what people have told you or what you thought you understood. This is a VERY complex species because of the number of members (over 1,000). I know that you are trying to do your own research, but this is a very complex subject, one in which you need experience to understand.
You need to have a proper ID, and I know you may think you know what you have, but the likelihood of that is slim. Most people who need a "pleco" ID have to get one from a person who has studied those animals. Post a pic here, if we can't help we know people who can.
We need a top view, a side view and a view of his rays (the big fin on his back). We need to be able to count his rays to help identify your pleco. We may even be able to tell the gender of your pleco.

Re: I need more infermation on green spotted puffers
body only will be 6" with the tail will be 8"
the name is fine.. it is cute.
The problem with plecos .. is they are poop machines. The bigger they get the more poop the make. They are pretty keep the tank clean but are messy fish!
