10g SW tank

Not all mantis get relly big. Im not sure if it would work for a peacock but there are some bright red ones and green ones that would be ok in a 10 I beleive.

The firefish (from reading) will school together so a couple of those would look really cool. Im not sure of how much of a clean up crew your actually going to want since your lighting probably wont grow that much algea for them to consume. Someone with more experiance would have to chime in and answer that one.

Id defiantly like some kind of shrimp.

How many firefish can fit in a 10g? I see they get about 3 in full grown

I think you could keep a couple in it. I have read of people keeping a clown and a firefish together in a 10 but IMO a 10 is to small for a clown.

Like I mentioned earlier I dont have the experiance or knowledge enough to suggest any shrimp or what kind. For color some scarlet and blueleg hermits would definitaly add some. Maybe a couple camelback shrimp may work but im not sure.

Not a Peacock mantis, they get too big but there are many smaller species.

just go with enough sand to visually cover the bottom, you are not going to have an effective DSB in a 10g.

cool. Dang it didnt even think about it, I just broke down my 5g that had sand on the bottom and what did I do with it. Tossed it out in the woods behind my apartment. DANG IT

You live in FL, sand should be cheap and plentiful.

lol ya, guess i could get my 5 gallon bucket and go dig up some sand at the beach. Then boil it when I get home

a 10g is big enough for a mantis? If so I have always thought they were cool as crap. But do they do much when not eating?

what about 2 firefish, snails, hermits, and some type of shrimp?

I have no experience with firefish but AFAIK(or read somewhere) it can only be 1 per tank. I would recommend a scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp*I love these guys*. A firefish, some snails and hermit's and then perhaps another smaller fish*Yellow clown goby perhaps? Not sure on compatibility on that but they can fit a 10g.* Not sure on the mantis either. well I got my filter thats rated for a 20g so I hope its enough current. Also bought a box of salt. I need to go get a hydrometer tomorrow. Im going to take some of the sand out of my 55 to put it in the 10g. Also have to find a place to the tank. Dont want it by the window like it use to be.

next payday ill get some liverock and start cycling the tank
