2 New Bettas and a couple Q's

Post by J-P »

We picked up a couple Bettas, 1 male and 1 female. I know they can't be housed together. I put the male in the assassin snail tank and am debating on where to put the female.

Options:
1)shrimp tank but the water is a little turbulent (very high flow) (20g)
2)Ramshorn snail breeder tank. (10g) not sure that is a good idea either because I am always sticking my hand in there ;)
3) Mystery snail + Apple snail tank. (10g) I think this is the best option.
4) Guppy tank haha

Any other thoughts and opinions?

the betta will most likely eat all the shrimp in the shrimp tank, feed my betta 30 bucks worth of RCS in under 48hours lol.

My betta is in my snail tank, and doesnt seem to mind my hand intruding

I have a male in my 10g snail tank as well. I do have a pair of 12" tweezers that I use so my hands only have to just break the waters surface sometimes to get snails. Still, he wouldn't mind if my hands were deep in there. Nor does he mind the frequent, large water changes either. He's a curious little booger and enjoys it all.

Here is what I do to baffle the filter current for him.

I tried a couple betta with apple snails, they continually amputated the antenna until the snails never extended them at all anymore. Seemed too mean to keep together.
