Many years ago--in the olden days when I started fishkeeping--before there were gravel cleaners, all we did was hand stir the gravel & take out 1/2 the water.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

Why not? Just stir & remove 1/2 the water. I still do that on some of my larger tanks & we all do that with sand substrates. The tank gets pretty murky but the fish doesn't mind. Clears up pretty quickly.hermionejanepotter12 wrote:yeah its not easy with out the gravle vackPufferpunk wrote:Many years ago--in the olden days when I started fishkeeping--before there were gravel cleaners, all we did was hand stir the gravel & take out 1/2 the water.
