I think it is on the seal of the down drain. Not sure if it is inside the drain or outside.

I only have to empty that one little section but leaving the pumps off worries me a bit.

If you had an overflow box that might work while the fix is cureing.

You can buy aquarium sealant over here to use inside the tank, whilst water is still in it. It's expensive, but sometimes worth it.

BC and PPG ... yes .. both good "ifs" I'll try it again and just be a little more liberal with the sealant and get into the corners also.

I hope it goes well this time.

ok... I had this initial leak fixed and everything seemed to be going well.

I found ANOTHER on, or a new one... I noticed some water stains on the glass that definitely were NOT there before. It seems I have a pinhole leak in a seam that looks like is NOT filled with silicone.

There is about a 1 - 2mm opening between the glass panes. The worst part is, it is in the center of the top section. That means I'd have to drain 2 tanks to get at it. 3 puffers, 2 plecos and an angle would have to be re-homed. Soooooo I am going to try and seal it while full. I hope it works out!

yea that is what I got basicly ... "Mighty Putty" and some plumbing tape :)

getting the putty into that TINY groove was more than a challenge. I hope I did it right...

Here are pic of the separation.

notice the distinct line down the middle of the water stain
