no pea puffers and other fish don't mix. but you could get 2 in that 10 gal. ;)

Maybe trade with the fish shop?

ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Freshwater/C_Travancoricus/

That is the link for the pea puffer / dwarf puffer. They are really cute too and a very good puffer for small tanks / new puffer owners.

The problem would be if you got 2 boys.. they will fight! You know how boys are.. haha They only get to be about 1". I think you'd be happy with them. If the fish shop has some.. we can help you check if they are male or female. BUT they have to be adults. Babies .. I don't think we can tell the difference.

LOL!!! True true!

I am not a fish expert, but some Neon Tetras will work with a nice planted tank. Dwarf Puffers, my crazy mother keeps gold fish but they keep dying because the tank is too small haha...

I like my shrimp but they are not always easy to keep. Guppies are easy and pretty but they have LOTS of babies so your tank will fill up quick :D I have 3 ten gallon tanks and they all have snails for the puffers. I know you don't like snails...

Maybe some other member can recommend something.. but Dwarf Puffers are a good choice :D

don't worry, he'll be the biggest and healthiest one there.. he will find a good home very quickly :)

Live plants can be tricky but choosing the correct live plants (like choosing a puffer) are the keys to success.

i'll be off for the night.. and others may reply.. I'll check in again tomorrow night :D

I private messaged Flutter and LGP to help on the fish selection for a 10 gal. I just don't know enough.

Have a good night!

You could look into celestial pearl danios.

I'd recommend a betta though. One would be very happy in a 10gal tank. They're beautiful and have lots of personality. Fish with personality are always best :)

You could do a single dwarf puffer like you had mentioned as well. They're great little fish but it won't be as visible and flashy like a betta would be.

I've almost always had at least one betta because they're awesome.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Do you really think your parents will let you exchange your fish for some others??? That would be fantastic! My thoughts would be not to get another puffer. They really aren't the easiest fish to keep.
