Anywhere 78-82 is considered tropical.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Brackish/T_Nigroviridis/
Water Parameters: High brackish to marine salinity; Temp: 23–26C (73 - 80F )
I was just using the Puffer Pedia as a guide. Is the Puffer Perdia incorrect? In a 10 gal tank I would have thought you turn down the heater to keep the O2

If you can't tell for sure what temperature it is you should put it in the middle of the range. Can you turn your heater down just a little bit?
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Good
Now tonight or tomorrow morning check the temperature of the tank again and let us know what it is. We don't want to change too much at one time so it's best to leave it alone for now. If it's still a bit high we can address that in a few days
Do you know why we want it in the middle? Since you can't tell exactly what the temperature is the middle is safest. That way, if the temperature is a little above or a little below what the thermometer says the water will still be the right temperature for the fish

Did you ever get anything to make more caves with? If you get silicone they sell it at home depot for just a couple bucks for a big tube of it. The brand is GE i beleive and make sure its the clear 100% silicone. As long as it states 100% your in the clear. The other stuff has chemicals that will kill off your bacteria and poison your tank. You seem to be headed on the right track, just keep takeing everyones advice and you cant go wrong. Good luck.

Just to add to the whole silicone thing. You want to make sure it cures completely out of water. So let it set for at least 24 hrs before you put it in your tank.

you are in a similar boat I was in. I have several tubes of silicone and could easily send one, BUT it is such a small project it is not worth opening an entire tube.
Do you have a small clay pot that you can use as a cave? You know the brown terracotta type the people grow plants in. That will work also.

Re: I need more infermation on green spotted puffers
This thermometer cost me $2.50 from my local fish shop.
When the time comes I think you would need 3, one for the little tank, one for the 10 gal and one for the 30 gal. maybe one to spare if you break one
