Maybe Ich?

Post by EdgarEdwin »

So Ive heard about Ich and read about it and everything, but i right now i have a balloon molly, i got him on sunday and hes the only one in my tank, and i know ich is a ton of white spots over the fishes body but the molly only has one small white dot on his tail fin, but nowhere else, is this normal or is it a case of ich?

Does it look like a grain of salt sitting on the fin? Sometimes, it could be just a little sore from a number of things. If its more creamy colored, looks more flush with its skin/scale/fin, and only in one or two places then I wouldnt get all freaked out about it. If its more like a grain of salt keep an eye on it and the moment you start to see more start turning the heat up (very slowley) and add some aquarium salt.

Here is an article on the safest way to treat ich. Just incase you do wind up haveing it.

It may be a scar. Keep an eye on the rest of it's body and watch for multiplying spots. If it's condition remains the same then it is probably just scarring.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.
