What I don't understand is after all the information we have given you, that you have said has been passed onto your parents, is why they won't make a simple trip to the LFS where it was purchased under misguiding information I my add to return it. It is a living breathing pet. I'm sure if you came home with a puppy your parents didn't know about and that at the time they couldn't look after you would be take it back. Just a thought.

trust me i tryed that and the girl that showed me him i was realy doing some deep consdreation at the time before i bought him. the girl said do you want the fish or not she got really snippy with me about it to. so i felt she kind of threw him at me too i mean i wanted him but i was thinking about all he would need before i bought him. she realy didnt give me the time to think about while i was there looking at him. to take in to consdration every thing needed. so at this point i realy dont want to take him back there and have that happen to him again on some one else i cant put him threw that. It just wouldnt be right to do that to him eather.

The only problem is hermionejanepotter is you don't have the means to do anything for him/her. When we tell you he isn't going to live long in that 5 gallon were only trying to help. You say you don't want the LFS to sell him to someone else under false information but he might just have a better chance, someone with a larger tank or more knowledge could buy him. Here in the 5 gallon with other fish he doesn't have much of a chance. Are you doing numerous water changes a day adding prime and at the right temperature to this tank now?

And the reason was because they wouldn't give the money back right. But if he dies you won't get your money back either right. So instead of him possibly living a long healthy life or not is the question, not the money, cause your in the same boat either way.
