I have a class assignment in which I need to write a poem or essay about a piece of visual art..

My favorite is The Scream, but I have written something about this piece before.

So, I am looking for some ideas...it does not have to be famous...just any visual art pieces..

Any ideas?

A. Rodin: Several, but #1 is the Thinker.

A. Calder: Almost any of the mobiles.but Lobster and Fish Trap is a long-time favorite

I like the Winged Victory.

I've also seen the Mona Lisa and boy is she creepy in person. About a million times more than in person. I'd like to see her again though, that's for sure.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Dali's Persistence of Memory was a shocker the first time I saw it in person. It is a tour de force. The man was definitely a great painter and loved to play with the eye and mind of his viewers.
