Ah! Which hairy puffer?! Pics added now -Chosen

I had ordered wildwoods hairy for £88 Inc delivery buyer have just been to a store and they have a pair for£60! I have them on reserve to speak to the manager Tuesday to see how they came in but should I go for it? Need to see if wildwoods do refunds does anybody know? The two in the shop were 5 inches one much haired than other and while watching they kept rubbing each other. I guess I just want your guys thoughts especially as the store in question is usually bad though these looked great and seemed to be getting VIP treatment.

I dont think they do refunds after purchase but if they havent shipped could be worth giving them a ring and try and sweet talk them. Make up some story about the tank cracking or something.

I've managed to get a refund and managing to get a lift this afternoon to get them!!!! I did spin a cracked story, but then Im a pretty loyal customer to them! Hopefully this is the right decision ( I know I make quick ones)

Glad you got your refund from Wildwood's. I agree, £60 for a pair is very good, and definitely something I'd probably go for myself. I would just be prepared to separate them should they get nasty towards each other. They can inflict a nasty wound if they feel inclined to do so.

Yep have a smaller tank that will do for separation needs if it doesn't work can always rehome one. Will definitely get pics just have to wait an hour or so to get them! Checked water temp etc all perfect. Also installed filter which is pretty strong flow and pointed the spray bar at the wall so nothing over powering. Also added more plants to the mix and additional hiding space at the back. I'm so blooming excited! Think I've got everything covered for a split decision?

Thanks guys, posted in the hospital forum the what I like to think as the female had trapped air when we got home, we think we have successfully burped her and acclimatising both now. She ended up blowing up a couple of times which helped clear the air which was awesome to see but wish it had been under better circumstances. Getting some sly pics as we speak so as not to stress them out.

I have fallen in love with Fitzgig! What a hairy lad! I wish mine was hairier, but I have the bald variety of a hairy puffer.

Awe thanks guys, both out and about abit this morning. None the worse for wear for air dilemma last night. Did some pacing and then interrogation of my face peering in, the river shrimp put in last night all disappeared. Aw Suzanne the hair is gorgeous but the markings are pretty on their own! A bald hairy lol, so sweet!

Aw thanks Hilly! A quick question, with Hairies read and in pedia that piscivores - they eat river shrimp and the male has eaten mussel (female nibbled and turned her nose up at it). I havent had a true piscivore puff before and know some breed to feed their needs what are considered less fatty subs? I know goldies are one of the fattest and def no nos. I am guessing guppies and mollies? (Please dont shoot me!) I plan to get them on to a varied diet but may have trouble with the female.
Plan: Mussles, worms, river shrimp, fish, will try cockles. ANy suggestions welcome. Also trying snails in the tank, if they do great more variety, if they dont yay to breeding!

p.s. have read pros and cons article on feeders, would breed and treat own.

I personally don't see anything wrong with using feeder fish, as long as they are ethically treated before being used for food. I think I give my guppies a good life and they'd be part of the food chain in the wild anyway -- as a lot of fish would be.
