A little olive oil in a large frying pan. Heat it up while chopping the bok choy into bitesize pieces. I discard the very end of the white section but use the rest. Saute/stir fry for about 5 minutes it in the olive oil and then add a little garlic-ginger sauce (I usually buy the Iron Chef sauces & marinades - they are great!) and continue to saute until the greens are wilted, the sauce is on all of it, and the white crunchy parts are just beginning to get tender. I guess that's about 10 minutes total.eieio wrote:how do you cook the bok choy?~reefchik~ wrote:Lunch today is going to be a small ribeye steak and leftover bok choy. Gotta be good!

Re: whatcha eatin
Hey, how can you complain about food in a country that eats bubble and squeak, toad in the hole, spotted d1ck, and cookies that have "that squidgy orange bit" in them?
I love the names the British give some of their dishes. They all sound good too!

The British people I know are all excellent cooks and make -amazing- meals.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

I love that method for bok choy. I always have it with a piece of seared ahi tuna.

Had Chick-Fil-A for dinner tonight. Tried one of their new spicy chickens. It was tasty and quite hot.

It really is strange though when you've been used to eating certain foods, prepared a certain way of course, and then you're in a totally different atmosphere in regards to food.
And England isn't all bad. They have fantastic milk and butter, these limey cows are the best. And as I mentioned before, England has some lovely sweets, so that helps to make up for the lack in interesting main foods available.

Some brown stuff my wife called "steak". I recall having it in a restaurant a time or two but it's been sooooo long I don't recognize it anymore....

Mmmmm...we went to Che Burrito in Hamilton...I had a huge vegan-steak burrito with quadruple jalapenos. I think if I had to live on one food forever, it would be jalapenos
