~reefchik~ wrote::( My brand new red Congo puffer died. I'm just so sad, I never had a fish die within 24 hrs of getting it home before. I drove 2.5 hrs to pick her up, and she was doing fine, I thought. Then this morning.... :rip:

That is SO very sad reefchik :( Sorry for your loss, will the pet store do anything to compensate? (or whoever you got it from??) being such a short time, just seems odd. :(

Well, for me today - I woke up 4 people between 1 and 1:30 a.m. that were NOT my customers I was supposed to be delivering to because (a) the address given was incorrect or (b) they did not leave a porch light on, making it impossible to figure out which house was theirs - or had no visible numbers that I could find. When I did call people to figure out where I was supposed to go for SURE - they were either too drunk to give me accurate help, or too foreign to understand that asking WHICH door I was supposed to go in did not mean 'We're upstairs' is even a relative answer. Repeating that you are upstairs does NOT make ME understand better if I knock on door 1, 2 or 5, since they are ALL ground level and unmarked.

I did, however receive a nice tip in Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (six in a sealed box) and made out with a nice chunk of change. I managed about 16 bucks an hour (not including the cost of the krispy kremes, or the 2 caffinated Monster drinks I bought, I bet probably another $10 if you include doughnuts and drinks).

P.S. Seems like a rough month for relationships; seems like a giant soap opera today!!! I must be a great shoulder to lean on, because everyone is running to me for advice - and I'm trying to listen and not get in the middle, especially when both sides are coming to me for advice!

sorry had to vent a little. Now I can sleep :D

Today, we got our *~*NEW*~* Internet, for WAY cheaper. More than doubled our speed for half the price!!! Unfortunately, our wiring was all fudged up, and the jacks were wired separately (had two seperate lines for phone/net before, bundled them up) And I (YES ME!) re-wired the jacks and it all works :D

Saved us $200 to have a tech (seriously) unhook the red and green, and hook up the yellow and black. Seriously, I'm underpaid ;)

Not today but I still have to share :-) I answered a Kijiji ad for 3 free fish tanks, no further details. When I got there, I was in the middle of a fairly calm but obvious domestic! I guess he was taking all these tanks that his friends wanted to ditch, hoping he would find the time to set them up, but he never did. And his wife wanted them gone. It was a package deal, so I had to take them all.
One was an ancient 20g that was on a glass stand...ugliest friggin thing I've ever seen! The second was a 35H that had been painted then partially cleaned off, covered with hard water stains...second ugliest thing I've ever seen :-) The third, however, was a new-ish 55g bow front with a new wood-look stand and glass lid. He said it leaked (slow leak) and his friend wanted it gone, so he took it.
I was terribly disappointed but didn't want to tell them I'd changed my mind, so I brought them home. I put up a free ad and a super nice couple who keeps american grey tree frogs was thrilled to take the 20 and 35. I've had the 55g set up in my garage for 4 days now...NO LEAKS!!! :-) I have to assume he had water wicking up the trim and over...a mistake I've made myself :-)

Glad to hear you are doing better, just keep up with what the MD says and you will be 100% before you know it.

Sorry to hear about your bunny, glad your kitten is doing good.

Sounds like its about time to find a new BF. He should be right beside you helping you through this time, not being mean to you.
