Carinotetraodon salivator questions

I've kept this species of puffer, even up until recently (my male died a few weeks ago), and I'm not even sure a 20-gallon is really right, definitely not right for a pair. I had mine in with my Mbu in his large tank.
The males are way-by-far much prettier and will show their colours often, which is amazing to see, so that's what I would aim for. Strangely enough, my Mbu was good mates with my salivator as they had been together since my Mbu was very small. I will definitely have one again when I find one. They are not easy to find over here, but a very well-loved puffer that's for sure.

Clock, Where are you located? Have you shipped fish before?

I'm in Oregon... I have not shipped fish before, but the guy who would pack and ship would likely be a friend nearby who breeds SA cichlids and ships all the time.

I'm really not interested in doing it for the money... just would be willing to do it if anybody in the hobby really wants one of these guys and hasn't been able to get one. I know how it is.

I ended up following what's suggested for dwarf puffers in my salivator tank.....2 females are in with 1 male in a 40 gallon tank. It has worked wonderfully. The tank is heavily planted, and there are several logs for territories. They are incredible puffers. Good luck.

Interesting information, with the aggression I saw in my male I thought it m take several females to disperse the aggression. Is he constantly chasing tail (excuse the pun) or does he have periods where he is after them and then calms down.
