Hi all,
I'm sure you've all heard this before, but I'd like to get some suggestion any hoo!
I'm about to upgrade my Amazon Puffer and Bristlenose cat to a 150 Liter / 40 Gal tank, I'd like to get another puffer as i know these guys prefer company. But I was also wondering what (if any) other tank-mates you would recommend. I'd be looking for something different (not just your typical tropical fish) or nothing at all.
I do think i've been lucky so far as bumble bee (the puffer) seems to love his bristlenose tank mate, even if Litch (the bristlenose) doesn't repay the favor!
FYI the aquarium will be heavily planted something like an Amazon biotope but i'd be happy to stock fish from a totally different part of the world!
Thanks in advance for your ideas / replies / recommendations

Re: 40 Gallon Tank Suggestions
really your best bet would be another south american puffer, they like to be in schools..and you have a 40 gallon so you could do 2 or maybe 3, however I am not sure about the bristlenose!
If you think one is fun to watch, imagine schooling behavior!

Re: 40 Gallon Tank Suggestions
Yeah that is what I originally thought but I thought there was no harm in asking!
Just done a water change and I have a towel with the st George's cross on it (Flag of England) which bumble bee can obviously see!
Now as soon as he saw it he turned his back and curled his tale as if to say your not coming into my home with that tube! Then as i was doing it he swam and surveyed my every movement as I hovered the gravel! At the end begged as if to say so am i getting a tasty treat!!! One live snail and a few live bloodworms! - Honestly I thought the Mrs was demanding!
Love it!
