Re: What happened to you today :)
Got our kitty today, shes gorgeous.. So small and cute and fluffy, she isn't scared at all shes just been playing and getting attention and eating loads.. She's eaten more in 1 sitting, than all our others do in a few days. The boys have had a few hisses and are now just sitting watching her play, our girl is the one who doesn't like her she won't even sit in the same room but it's getting better
will post a video or pictures after.

Re: What happened to you today :)
Well I applied the hornet killer powder tonight. After reading the directions on the bottle, I decided to do as it said to do, which was to wait until evening and then apply. The last thing I need, or want, is to be stung by a swarm of hornets, especially as they can sting repeatedly. I've not been stung by a bee/hornet/wasp in about 6 years and don't care to change that.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. I really could not see what was going on under the tree, and didn't want to pry too much for fear they would come out with a vengeance. So I just aimed for where I thought they were and squeezed the bottle.
I didn't want to use too much because it said a 2nd application might be necessary. So I will see how things go tomorrow and if the activity hasn't died down any, then I will do it again.
I hate killing things, but with it being so close to the front door and with my dogs going out there quite often, I just couldn't take a chance on something bad happening.

I did nothing!!
Sat and watched 2 movies, fed the fish, worked on the website a bit... walked around outside a bit to inspect the clean-up. Pretty non-existent day.
if you follow me, you avoid stepping in the crap that I just did...

Re: What happened to you today :)
Everything I've ever been told is to do it at night. Always. That way they're all in the nest, their activity levels are reduced, their aggression is reduced, and the cooler temperatures slow them down.
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Flying beasts don't fly in the dark, so they're all in the nest.

Re: What happened to you today :)
That's a gorgeous kitty, Tiger. I can see why you named her "Bella". I like how the other kitty sort of peeks out from his kitty cave and watches what's going on.
And just to clarify, the hornets I killed don't pollinate anything, not like bees. I read up on them and if they were bees, I wouldn't want to kill them, because we NEED bees, but hornets don't really benefit humanity like bees do.
However, I'm not sure my efforts last night paid off. I can still see activity, altough not too busy yet. I will see what it's like once it warms up and if it's as populated as it has been, then I obviously didn't do something right.

Re: What happened to you today :)
I know! I saw the topic line, and I was like, WTH? Opened it and OMG! REPORT!!!!
Yesterday we went on an adventure. We were going to go golfing, but ALL local golf courses were holding outings, and we couldn't golf until much later. Instead, we drove to the 'BIG CITY' and visited a golf pro shop. My boyfriend ended up calling his buddy, and his buddy said he'd buy his clubs for $400... so my boyfriend got the last set of what seems to be the PERFECT clubs. Some Mizuno's... By the time we were done fiddling around there, we headed back towards home and came across this BEAUTIFUL golf course in the middle of a city (we never go to, but it's close to home). I think Par was 70 for the course, my boyfriend won with 76, (he was saying he was only six over, so his clubs worked well for him)... I played a 114, but it's only my fifth time playing EVER. I actually hit the ball, and did pretty decent most of the time. I just need more practice. Hey, I might be looking into a real set for me sometime soon too - the set I play with is a hodge podge set, different lengths and hard to play. A nice set of ladies clubs just may be in order
I'd like to get my daughter a set too, (they had bag and clubs for $100 at the shop we were at, but they are orange... the pink ones she wanted are for 5 year olds... maybe for her this christmas or birthday, since she is as tall as some 5 year olds now and she'll be four!)
I couldn't believe I came home, we ate a little simple dinner and I sat down to chat as my daughter watched cartoons - and I passed out in my computer chair.
