And if an unwary adult comes out and breaks your puffer's incisors? I don't do time bombs in my tanks, nor would I suggest that anyone else use such.
I am extremely conservative in my fish and tank care. I do know that few hobbyists are such, but that does not influence what I have found out by experience and what I can recommend to others as safe or unsafe practices. Obviously I cannot compel anyone to follow my practices, but I also cannot suggest practices I consider unsafe.

Oh, well, OK RTR, since you're evidently the ultimate word around here these days - guess I should've titled this thread "The Most Horrible Thing You Could Ever Do To A Puffer". And yes, unlike you, I don't give a flying crud about my fish, and certainly will never be the aquarist you are, or probably even as good a human being as yourself. Maybe I should just flush all my fish down the toilet and toss my tanks out the back door.
I thought for a while there that I missed this forum, but I was wrong.
Sorry, but I'm old and crabby...I guess that's the excuse du jour?

Re: cool little system going
wow a bit of overkill there killer.
If you post something up on a forum you cant expect everyone to pat you on the back and agree with you. People are never going to full agree and when its on something that has been studied and beaten to death, as this has been, then people have there strong opinions with facts to back it up. If you dont like what people have to say just ignore them and keep doing what your doing, just dont get pissed if your fish breaks a tooth
