I know Dave ... I won't mention it again. I really am going to rehome Obie though. He's taking to spitting rocks at the glass and it's freaking my dog out badly. He also seems to be skittish to the point where he swims so fast that he creates a wake and splashes water out of the tank. I love Obie, but I need to work on getting BeeBoo a new tank first and I cannot move Obie until BeeBoo has a new tank. So a bit of a catch-22. Besides, maybe it's best to just have one monster puffer. I told myself I would not resort to giving him up to the LFS, but I might see if Wharf would have him. I know that's bad of me, and I already feel badly for thinking about it. :(

I will try to get some pics up of the turgidus tomorrow. He's doing fine so far. :)

I'm still trying to get some photos of the new guy, but he likes to stay hidden. I've got a black PVC tube in there, and you should see him. If he sees me looking at him, he will move into the tube, and if I try to look at him from one end, he will go backwards so I can't see him. Very funny.

Anyway, I think I've come up with a name. Because he looks like he's always "pouting", I'm going to call him Pouty!

I don't believe he's eaten anything since I got him, until last night. I had just gone and gotten a fresh supply of earthworms, and I threw one in to him, and he came out of his hidey spot and munched that down. So then I gave him another, and poof! that was gone just as quick. At least I know that he's gotten something in his tummy, which is good.

I will try for pics later, if he's out where I can photograph him.

Oh well, the cat is out of the bag (as they say). My husband officially knows about Pouty now. He was upstairs and I was doing my feeding ritual and I stopped to feed Pouty and then I was talking to him (the puffer) when my husband came into the room. I immediately jumped up and went into the kitchen. He stopped by the front of the tank and asks me who I was talking to, and I said "the guppies" (there's a few guppy fry in there), but he looks at me and I guess I was smirking. Then he knew something was up. He went and had a better look and to my surprise, that darn Pouty came out of the PVC tube and came right up to the glass, as if to say, "here I am!"

Hubby had no idea what kind of puffer it was and just for a moment he thought it was one of my other puffers. Then I admitted that it was a new puff that just came on Friday. He was very good about it after that. But he did say he was going to replace my salivator puffer that died, so once I reminded him of that, he didn't have much else to say.

Okay Flutter, I will try and get some pics of him today. If I can get him to come out. I wish he would lighten up, he's still fairly dark, but definitely a fatty, that's for sure.

Try a side shot if possible

Okay, here's the long awaited photos my new turgidus puffer. I wanted to try and get something in the photo to show his size, but in the end my dog kept pestering me, so I just took some shots.

Here's Pouty!

Thanks reefchik, thanks Hilly.

He is one big puff, isn't he? I have to say though, he's becoming quite social, and comes to the front to greet me when I stop at his tank. My other turgidus wasn't like that at all. :D

That was how my first turgidus was: always "talking" to me. I love them when they are like that. You have a beautiful turgidus there. :-D

Thanks Tara, thanks Dave. Pouty has turned out to be a nice puffer, now if he would just move about the tank a bit more, he tends to stay in just the one end.
