Re: Vicious (Updated Pics!)
yea
He had a couple nibbles before the first shot too, it was just a perfect sequence I caught on camera.
I'm on countdown - 4 days after today I will have his new tank! (I work every day in between too! Hopefully it makes the days fly!)

A happy 120 gallon tank, housing Vicious and his 2 mates: Lemondrop (an Electric Yellow Malawi Cichlid) and Charky (Rainbow Shark).

Re: Vicious (Updated Pics!)
That was cute. You do very good little films ohyouknow. I loved in the beginning when Lemondrop steals Vicious's worm. He looked at him like, "hey come back here, that's my worm!"
Nice little vid, and your puffer is looking really good too.

Re: Vicious (Updated Pics!)
lol thanks everyone
Yea, they are quite the duo, Vicious is starting to get smart, and chomps his worm quicker, and on the run... He sees Lemondrop gettin close and he's like nonononooo!! CHOMP CHOMP! And I love it too, because Lemondrop can't even chew through the worm, but he'll steal it, and acts like he's 'fishing for Vicious'... Peeking out of hiding spots with it just hangin from his mouth.
I've been trying to measure Vicious too, so hard 'under glass' seems like sometimes he looks 6" long, and other times he looks so much smaller... any tricks or tips in doing so?

Re: Vicious (Updated Pics!)
I eye up where they are in the tank and take a measurement later, for instance if they are by a plant and against an ornament. It's not perfect, but gives you an idea of how long they are for the most part.

I just sit with a measuring tape and wait till he is swimming along the tank.

Re: Vicious (Updated Pics!)
At one time I took a tailoring measuring tape (flexible cloth like one) and stuck it to the side of the tank with double sided tape. I video taped him then, swimming along it - and later watching the video I could measure out conflicting lengths. I'm sure the 'longest' measurement was the longest he was, but it was hard to say, as he was over an inch different within a few minutes. I suppose I should do it again to see what I come up with...

Re: Vicious (Updated Pics!)
A couple of pics to share - that I absolutely adore...
First, my Cheeky Cichlid - Lemondrop. IDK how I seemed to capture a PERFECT photo, I wish I could get this quality ALL of the time.

I love how the light caught the flecks of blue, you can really see how pretty it is!
(is this an albino electric yellow cichlid?? no black stripes on my lab!)
And, Vicious!

I was bracing myself on the tank base, and he caught glimpse of my promise ring. He was trying to eat it through the glass! (OOOoo Shiney!) I love how the tank doesn't have it's usual yellow cast of light - I discovered it's due to the glass topper. I'm going to have it replaced, as it seems to have a lot of hard water scale that refuses to come off, along with some slime I have to wipe off constantly (I understand that's probably normal though, and it's ok - I'd like to get a thicker topper anyways. this one is bowed in the middle.) If I place the light over the front section of topper (where you open it) it's clear and beautiful like this! The light must have really made the red in his eyes pop too, he looks evil!

Really great photos OYK, and I especially like the way you can see the colour of your Fahaka's eyes, and I don't think he looks evil at all, sort of cute actually.
