GSP Question

Hi All

Been a long time since I posted on the forum, almost a year and my GSP is still alive and well Recently transplanted him in his new "puffer palace" which is a 55 gallon, brackish tank, salinity is 1.11 (I have had him in this salinity for almost the whole time I have had him, I'd say 6 months or so), temp is 80 degrees. Water parameters are great (Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate less than 20 ppm)...The GSP is very happy, but for some reason today, when I was sitting on the couch watching him, he was begging for food, as always LOL, (I feed him once a day, 6 days a week) he is probably a little less than 2 inches....he seemed to puff up a little bit, (I have never seen him do this!)....I checked all my levels, thinking a spike in my parameters may be the cause, and nothing is wrong...taking a closer look, I notice tiny white spots on him, not like ich...He had Ich when I purchased him from walmart almost a year ago, but we took care of that problem ages ago...they look different....what could it be???he is still a little swollen I might add, I did just feed him, but more swollen than usual....and acting quite strange I might add!!!

Hi Ashley, good to have you back with us and glad to hear you've still got your GSP, although I'm sorry that he has some issues just now.
I would think a photo would be needed in order to help you. I haven't any idea what it could be if it's not whitespot (ich).
So give us a pic and hopefully we can go from there.

If he puffed a little, then the white spots are probably his little spines! Perfectly normal.

I was thinking that the little white spots are your puffers tiny spines. If you look hard enough when they aren't puffed up at all you can see them still. Just to make sure though a nice close up picture would be beneficial.
