PPG, I still think it was those dyed ferns.
You are getting sleepy... you only hear the sound of my voice... you must do water changes... water changes... water changes... water changes...

I had a guppy a long time ago that would not stay in the tank. Its new perminant home became the top portion of my AC filter. It was a bedside tank and every night i would here a fish jumping and i could never find out what it was untill one day when I was cleaning out my filter I saw him. He would come out dureing feeding time and then about a half hour later retreat to his little home.

I'm very inclined to agree with you PufferPunk. I had some of those ferns in another tank too and have promptly removed them. Shame though, they were pretty and they weren't cheap. Oh well, live and learn.
Oh and about the crabs .... the other one was going up the intake all last night, trying to get to where his companion is. He would get all the way to the top and then fall all the way back down, flailing his legs all the way . Then he would do it all over again. Looking this morning though, there's only one crab in the filter, so not sure where the other one got to.
