Do all puffers do this?
Do all puffers do this?
Hi,
I used to have a white spotted puffer that used to do the puffer dance (feed me) when I went near his tank and if you ignored him he would spitt water at you.
I would like to get another puffer with the same personalities, other than a white spotted and a dog face, would like to find if any other puffer has the same personalities
Thanks
'H'

Re: Do all puffers do this?
my gsp has done the dance (i call it him wagging his tail like a puppy lol) and he also spits on occasion.
the new f8 seems too small to dance, but yes he spits, or blows or whatever it is they're doing.

My Mbu will spit at my husband, but not at me. I thought he was joking the first time he said BeeBoo had done it, but then I seen him and laughed so hard. My Fahaka, Obie, will go along the glass showing me his teeth. I'm not sure what he's trying to convey ... but it's funny to watch him doing it.

The Porcupine Puffer tend to do the the spitting a lot. What size tank do you have and what tank mates?

Zephyr's tank is right next to Frankie's...if I feed Frankie first, Zeph gets impatient and splashes me with his giant tail...

Re: Do all puffers do this?
Mine (a Fahaka) does beg bad, if he sees food he'll flair his tail, wiggle and then 'yells' at me (makes faces and I swear it looks like he says FEED ME NOW!), and when I open the lid he'll get up to the surface and stick his eyes out at me, then swim down to look at me through the glass... and back to the top again. If my fingers dangle over the top while it's open, he thinks they are fair game and will jump up (out of the water) trying to grab them. (Only happened TWICE now, avoid it at all costs - hate to have him gulp air
)

Re: Do all puffers do this?
Originally I was thinking of a marine puffer. The Fahaka seems a very popular puffer with similar personalities and pos easyer to keep???
now I'm even more confused at wich one to get
I have a 450ltr tank ,Juwel vision 450, thats empty at the moment

Re: Do all puffers do this?
Your tank is big enough for a fahaka, they are quite personable.
My intention was to get a DP, but I fell in love with him from the second I saw him (Even if I did think he was an adult DP when I bought him, I didn't know there was anything OTHER than DP's in FW!)

Shame. I have a Fahaka that I am considering rehoming. Not certain yet, but I probably would if I could find a decent home for him, otherwise I will keep him.
