Re: New puffers
It does look like 55...I hope it has the lid with lights (those can be expensive if you have to buy them separate!)
How much do they want and what is included?

Re: New puffers
well this one is only $65,
comes with:
tank
stand
lid
a couple filters (not sure how big but i think they're big enough together + i have a 30gallon filter)
a brand new submersible 150 watter stealth heater (said its still in the box he just never used it)
thermometer, gravel, fish food, etc (things i dont really need so i could probably even get a few dollars knocked off the price
he's a really nice guy thats trying to get rid of these tanks(already sold a similar one). he offered to knock off $5 and give me the original, bigger filter thats missing a piece or give me a couple smaller ones

Re: New puffers
ok , yeah that is a pretty good deal..
On my 55s I used two filter , one on each side...so you can do that..have two instead of just one..might even be better (depends on the filters)

I am hoping you get the 55-gallon tank, it looks great and I'm sure your puffers will appreciate the extra space.

Haha now you are speaking like a true puffer owner! I have found that if you buy a big tank first and then think of all that stuff later it will always work out so just go for it!thenewpufferintown wrote: The only problem is where to put it in the house

Re: New puffers
haha
hey guys, is "Coralife Salt" a good brand for this aquarium? The only review I saw (from petsmart) just gave it 5 stars in everything but no description or testimony.
quick replies are much appreciated as i'm probably going to buy some in a couple hours.

Cheapest marine salt you can find, is OK for BW.

I've never used that brand, can't comment. I use Tetra marine salt quite a bit though.

Re: New puffers
I can't recall anyone give preference to one brand or the other in all of my puffer research and I've seen many specifically say that it doesn't matter at all. I am also amazed at the difference in price per ounce between a small bag, a larger bag, and a bucket.
There are many knowledgeable fish keepers on this forum willing to help and give great advice...The advice is free; What you choose to do with it gives it value.

Re: New puffers
so i got the new 55 gallon tank
only $55! with stand, a couple of cheap, old filters i dont even really know how to use, the hoods with lights and everything. I'm very pleased and I think my puffers will be happy when they get to go in it. Right now its cycling, the sand has settled, and we're just waiting for the green light to move in
Re: New puffers
Thenewpufferintown how are you cycling? Here is a great article to read.
