I got about 1/2 way done today and hopefully, they will be dry enough tomorrow so that I can flip them over and and do the other sides and add a second coat. I think it is going to take 3 sessions to get them all done.

Started My Stand Build ..finally
After getting the cinder blocks and having laying around for a month, I finally got up the energy to start painting them

Those look heavy. What are your plans for the stand (i.e. structural, if you say to go under a fish tank.... *shakes fist*)?
It is absurd to talk of one animal being higher than another. We consider those, when the cerebral structure/intellectual faculties most developed, as highest. A bee doubtless would when the instincts were.

Re: Started My Stand Build ..finally
ummm its a fish forum
That's why I didn't post pics of the fence I built for the garden
I would like to build a tank stand for the 6 breeder tanks I have and possibly 2 or 3 others that I have my eye on.
They are heavy but its got to get done... At least I don't have to worry about it collapsing under the weight of the tanks
I am going to use standard 8" cinder block across the back / wall side of the stand and the decorative ones along the front.

Re: Started My Stand Build ..finally
yep painted the last of them yesterday. All I have to do now is flip them and get the rims on both sides done
One reason this is taking so long, is that, I am using a roll on granite surfacer and it is VERY thick and takes a while to dry. There is a spray on version that is quicker but a little more $$.

yeah and the spray paints usually have less paint in them - but thats what you pay for - pay less and take a lot longer or pay more and have it done quater of the time.

Re: Started My Stand Build ..finally
Got dirty today .. with a slight miscalculation
The width of the stand is wider than I have room for.
So ... that means I need more cinder block and more painting.. I'm 12 cm too wide! So I am thinking of making an "L" shaped stand.
BTW.. don't try and carry cinder block with one hand OVER a fish tank.. it is difficult enough to place it.

Got part way there yesterday and today. Got an octopus to clean up, play hide the hoses and get a couple clamps for the air pump, which mysteriously went missing
.
Still have to buy more cinder block and 2x4s for the 2 larger tanks going in ... I don't think I'll paint them as of yet. I just don't have the time to make it "pretty" at the moment.
