But then you can't change it up. I don't know if we'll change the rocks much but it would be nice to be able to change the corals around when desired. Do you know of any glues that aren't quite permanent? Is there a way we can stick them down without making it permanent?

Just heard from the store, the smallest F8 they have (which is what he ordered) is about 3/4". I didn't know they came that tiny! It's coming in tomorrow so fingers crossed that it doesn't have any major problems and that it settles in well. I really hope it's a good eater, I don't like picky fish I'm really excited. The tank is ready so we're just waiting on the fish now. Water temperature is stable, particulate is being filtered out, corals are in, we've got the power bar and timer for the light, etc. We already have more fish food in the freezer than human food (which is really sad because it's true)...

ETA: I'll ask Kyle to leave his camera here tomorrow so I might be able to get pictures.

The tank is ready for whenever it's new inhabitant arrives. I put in about 20 cherry shrimp. It would be awesome if they could survive and breed in there. There's tons of hiding places for them in the rocks so it's possible Thankfully cherry shrimp can actually survive and breed in low brackish water which is excellent. I didn't want to have to add ghost shrimp

I didn't know RCS could tolerate brackish! I'm gonna toss some in when I get home!

I know! I tossed them in so the puffer could have some live food seeing as it's coming from the wild... I then went "oh $&^#" and then got upset because I didn't want to keep it FW for long but I also didn't want to have dead shrimp stuck in some remote area of the rock. Then I did some research and found several places that said they'd do well in low brackish water. Phew. So I put 15 more in Hopefully those sites were right Our rock is so full of holes and tunnels so I'm hoping they do well. If not it's no big deal.

Thanks We're still rearranging the corals trying to figure out what we like best. I think the tank is 20". Not perfect but the puffer is young, the rock and corals are both very complex, and we have 10x per hour turnover which creates a current. I really hope it's happy.

IT'S HOME! And absolutely tiny. The order arrived early so the new small ones were put in the tank with the others. The guy didn't want to sell it to us today (too stressful) but we bought one anyways. It has a better chance of surviving in our healthy tank alone than it does in the pet store tank with like 30 other puffers. It's about 3/4" if that and has barely developed it's eyespots. Kyle's working on pictures right now.

She's settling in very well. Is very determined to try and eat a shrimp. So far she's way too slow but I think she got some legs from one of the big ones. A few minutes ago I put in some crab and lobster bites for the shrimp. She ate them and has a huge belly now. Apparently they're quite yummy She ate a piece of flake food too! I'll try her with bloodworms or mysis shrimp tomorrow. Maybe some NLS pellets as they have garlic in them. She's so small it'll take nothing to fill her up, she's smaller than a DP easily (about the size of the juvenile DPs you see in the store sometimes).

We decided it's a her because she's full of attitude, doesn't seem to be phased by anything, and is absolutely evil to the shrimp As soon as she was loose she went after the shrimp and she's determined. In the bag she was biting at the marker numbers, she tries to eat the corals (a lot, very determined with them too), she bites the filter intake, the airline tubing I was using to remove water from her bag, etc...
